Japan's Nintendo Co Ltd
said on Monday that its Gameboy hand-held game machines will be
able to link to the Internet starting early next year.
The company has developed software that will enable users to
connect Gameboys to mobile phones and personal handyphone systems
for Internet access, it said. Users will be able to exchange data
with other users and to add features such as new characters and
background to games through the Internet. The price of the new
software is still undecided, a spokesman said.
